Kitchen ...........

Soon I hope to post pics of our new and updated kitchen.....but a detailed paragraph will have to suffice!

Nice crisp white cabinets with brushed stainless hardware. And a cool dark grey tile floor........a new window treatment- possible in lime green =) or turquoise. We are d i y 'ing' a plate rack thingy above the micro. Which will house some colored plates. So all in all the kitchen will be stainless appliances, white and grey. So a wild punch color will be needed. (Do I need to explain "punch" color to you?....don't feel bad Peter I am sure there is another person that doesn't understand my designer vocab!) Votes on the punch color are welcomed......lime green, turquoise, or classic red.

Here is some color inspiration:

Hope this update is done soon.. I am not loving the caios in our kitchen!

Fingerpainting

"Fingerpainting and Fingerprinting"

This collection is called "Heritage" by Julia, Emma and Tammy Holm

No better way to paint than with your fingers! These are the masterpieces that the girls and I made during the week of sickness! Painting is sheer joy to me, and the girls have inherited that from me. But the idea for this "collection" is from a friend Julia "big Julia". Only because she is older-not larger! She painted a great painting and used her finger prints for the blossoms of the flowers. So armed with a branch, paint and lots of fingers-we painted. These paintings make me smile, looking at the tiny little pinky print.....I ponder it all and then am reminded. Children truly are a heritage from the Lord.

Ala Cart thoughts

A flea market in Mexico

This pic came to mind as I ruffled threw my Ala cart of thoughts for the next blog. It gives good visual on what my brain is like sometimes. Lots of stuff stacks, hanging and folded for almost as far as you can see. I go thru and pick a few and lay them on the "blog table" of the Internet to find out if they are worth anything to anyone else =)

I pick today a sweatshirt-2 out of 5 people have fevers at our home today and they are cold...all the time.

I pick out a comforter to show all that I want a nap after being up with a feverish husband and a toddler screaming DADDY WHERE ARE YOU at 2 am then 4 am then 5:07 ....let's be honest I couldn't "Deal" with it any more.

I pick out a white cabinet door to show you all how my hubby has been working on the kitchen cabinets. They are going to look great! The kitchen update has begun!

I will take a sticky note off the wall to remind myself my Starbucks customized card should be coming in the mail today! The beginning of my 08 experiment. How far can Tammy make 200 dollars last at Starbucks. Place your bets of the date it will run out. Winner gets what else but Starbucks.

Last but not least I will grab the Nacho libre mask from the top shelf and be the weirdo I am. At work they had us fill out a sheet called getting to know you. Well, you know you are weird when they say list one fun fact no ones knows about you. And you have to consult with your co workers on what is the WEIRDEST thing you should write. I had at least 10. For a giggle you might want to know some:

1. At 17yrs old I was pretty set on becoming an ATF agent. (the special agents how bust up drug labs, weird cults, hostage situations etc)It was that or a pastor's wife, I choose the latter.

2. I have filled out an application for Fear factor- almost sent it in then got preg with Erik. So that never happened

3. I have fit a pool ball in my mouth, almost got lock jaw too

4. I have bungee jumped

5. I have performed a lip sync act, with my girlfriend Rosita as ABBA. It was in front of an audience of a couple hundred retired/ borderline elderly people. And yes they loved it.

6. Me and Smitty have met a few times-we are tight

**** The winning fun fact was -I have rapped in 6 countries in front of thousands, including Euro Disney! *********

Monkey and MJ

Julia saw Curious George on the TV. The thoughts and ideas start to roll around in her ever to mature brain. "Mommy, I think I want to be a monkey instead, cuz I really would like to have 2 more arms that are also my legs".
I giggled and said "That's a good idea". I retold the story of wanting a pet monkey and the disappointment I had when Dad told me "real" people can't have monkeys. Only Zoo's can have monkeys. For a while I wanted to live at the Zoo. (I left out the part of the story where I told Dad he was your Micheal Jackson bought a monkey..why can't we?) How did I at like 9yrs old know that? I don't know.

For your reading enjoyment I included the 2 best pics of both parties!?

2008-thoughts and my little experiment!

The New Year rung in somewhat uneventful this year. Like every other year here in the US. No cool fireworks indoors. Yes I said INdoors. No big late meeting at church filled with hugs, yummy food, and fun inside the church walls till the wee hours. I mentioned to Peter the day we finally are Pastors..... Watch out America! We are raising the bar on New Year's Celebrations! For those that have experienced a Word of Life New Year's Conf. You understand completely! Don't worry if you have not, you will just have to plan in a few years to come and join us...where ever that may be!
I have over the last years decided there would not be many resolutions in my life. But goals for the New Year-my "vision" for the next year, absolutely! Many of which I would never write in a blog! That is like posting your diary online? No thanks. I do enjoy the turn into a new year. My thoughts are filled with hope and destiny. That something good will be happening this new year. That things experienced in the past year will somehow be a launching pad into better things. A step closer into God's amazing plans.
I am a die hard I optimist I admit. Filled with hope and joy overflowing to jump into a new year. With all my goals and dreams for the new year come to pass!
May my childish experiment to drink only 200.00 dollars worth of Starbucks this year be a success! (FYI I am buying gift cards to SBucks and only using them when it is done-it is done!)I will be posting randomly to let you know how that is going!

December-filled with family, fun and fat

This is the fat part........all 5 pounds of it...all on my thighs!

(This would be the family part)

You wonder where I get my CRAZY from??? Father's side I'd say!

This is the fun part!

Dad in his Element

No New Year's Resolutions here! Yuck! No broken promises and huge let downs!

Enjoy the pictures. We had a great time with my family. No ER visits this Christmas. The Johnson family Christmas was fairly uneventful!( The kicker was that someone broke in to mom and dad's truck on Christmas Day and stole some important stuff from them! Grrr...that stunk! )

I heard a funny saying for 08 from a friend-

I wish to all my lovely single friends that 08 would be a the year of "find your mate in 08" Heheh -right on CP!

I wanna wish a Happy New Year to all!

Many blessing on a new year, let it be the best one yet!
