I will just be me

I can't be that, yet a thought says I should
It would feel like being a wrinkled up carbon copy of some sort
I could try a million times to smooth it out
Every quirk that makes me, Me

The green grass of the other side
Makes my complexion a bit dull and my mind puzzled
My feet are tired, don't really like to stand and stare

The constant reminders come as whispers and shouts
To move quickly back towards the mirror
The Light is perfect the image fades

Embracing me alone
Every imperfection, every fault
Giggling at way I have glanced so quickly past
The beauty inside, peeking sheepishly out

I long for the balance
Between glimpses and shadows
Reflecting on the victory
Telling of the challenge

Rallying myself again
A steadfast reminder
I will just be me

Father's Day Cafe

Here is what happened today at our house!
"Father's Day Cafe"
open 6-8am only once a year.
by
Chefs Tammy, Jules,Em
Entertainment after by Peter (looking for his gift)

Julia's piece de resistanc (sp)

Emma has seen Food Network...excellent plating (note the runaway blueberry)

They are awesome kids, kept the secret! Ran out of bed to start getting the restaurant going, they said in the end they want me to open a restaurant not them. I doubt that will ever happen, but it was a nice compliment! We love our Dad so much! He is worth it! He doesn't get enough praise! You are the best, Peter! Happy Father's Day.

Haircuts and summer fun!

Finally a nice summer day in the midst of a rain filled week, or should I say weeks! Here is Erik on his balance bike. Note no pedals. He loves it and watch out girls he is going to never use training wheels!
Lil Frank tried out the grass. A couple handfuls later he was not liking it so much. But here it looks like he ate it, promise he didn't!
Here is my lil spitfire, punching the camera. He really didnt want his picture taken. Like the tattoo and shirt?
Miss Supermodel Jewels, we cut off over 6 inches yesterday! She looks adorable!
Emma was really not feeling well so I took a pic today and can't get it to upload. Oh well, her hairstyle is the same and super cute. We want the rain to stop now so we can go exploring in the mountains today. We will see what we can figure out!

Bye Bye Tonsils

With Ulla (her dog) in toe, we set off early in the morning last week to get Em's tonsils and andoids out. Finally the end of constant strep for Emma. We prepared her well, except for the IV part. She was in a morphine blurr wondering what this tube thing was and a pink giant bandaid?? She did awesome and is recovering well.

She got the bravery award signed by the doctor!

She got a bear and named it the purple Ulla. For those who don't know it is not "hola" it is short u....ulla. The nurse keep saying "hola" the dog. LOL!

She still isn't back to her old self yet but she is much better and we look forward to LESS sick days for everyone next year!

Lucky #7

Here she is fresh out of bed and sooo excited to open her gifts! Lucky #7 with only one question...on which birthday do I get a cell phone. Sigh.

The countdown was over it was Birthday morning for Jewels. She knew that she needed to wait in bed for everyone to come and sing to her and bring her gifts. It never gets old for me to get it all ready-they eat it up every time. Or should I say just like off the frosting....

Therese was here in spirit with her gift to my kids-custom labeled

"Choco Moble"

The Birthday girls table

Just for you! Happy Bday!

Reverse Flashback, if that is possible

We had Em's preschool graduation a few weeks ago. Time flies both in getting this posted and watching her blossom. She is so special, nurturing and mothering to all her friends. She even would like to marry Connor, because he is so kind. One word for that-"oj". Being that her and I are middle children I "feel" her joy and pain all to much. This night was a special nite for her, mostly cuz it was all about her. She was proud and had an extra twinkle in her eye. Even had her "farmor" (aka grandma) there to watch proudly from the crowd. Can you believe it I only shed a tiny tear? Not bad for a "cryer" like myself. Good going Em, you make us so happy and give us more laughs than you even understand!
