Here are today's quirky happenings. In case you cared or needed a giggle I am sure one out of the 10 would do that. Enjoy!
10.I managed to answer the "why" question about 8 times (no lie) in a row before shouting- IT JUST IS!!! FYI -I Usually shout at #3.
9.I stole a frie from Erik at supper and he shouts " Hey!!!!!!!!!" I was like oops he really cares and that's right he talks!
8.I found my second wind in a (large lol john and Julia)triple white chocolate mocha Starbucks. The lady asked me do you want your receipt? I said "no". She replies " RIGHT ON!! Saving the rain forest one receipt at a time!" I sheepishly smile? Ok?
7.I also saw a preg lady feel up her boyfriend, husband, or male friend in the check out- and I don't feel comfortable with that PDA GEEZ!
6.I saw a couple dressed up like Pirates at Walmart, and I don't think they were kidding.
5.Erik and Emma snuck out of the bathtub and paraded the house until I found them hiding in Erik's bedroom baring only their towels and a smile!
4.Comforted a wounded Emma. Who received her 5th band aid for the day. This one being the one to put her over the top. She can now only hop when she remembers she has it on her foot!
3.Rescued Erik from the sprinkler. He got paralyzed by the shooting water going clockwise chasing him! His head was directly in the line of fire it was funny! Then I realized I need to retrieve the boy-ugh- that means getting wet! Geez, we still survived just a little damp. Sad thing it it happened more than once.
2.I pulled a sliver from Julia's toe and it was like me a tweezers and magic. I couldn't help but say " I am like a doctor" She goes " I think that is what you should be when you grow up" And all I could do was smile....giggle....when I grow up...Yeah NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!LOL
1.Erik played with my cell phone today and between him, Emma and my song list playing they managed to call 911. Thanks guys, really! I didn't think it went Thru because it was not showing on my dialed numbers. But an hour later the Tulsa Police called me back. Opps. Now I can add that to my "it has happened to me" mommy belt.

He really heard me! Imagine that-God hears prayer?!
God heard my very heartfelt prayers many months ago. I was joking talked with my hubby about then prayed seriously for it when I was all alone. I got my answer to prayer-Christina! Our favorite babysitter and dear friend. She decided to move to SLC with us for the summer. This is the part where I look up at the sky and blow a kiss to heaven, Thanks God.
PS Happy Bday Christina-you're the best!
Of course now I sit and blog and it isn't working to insert a picture! Well I will just have to add that later then....grrr blogger.com!

Backyard conversation
It was hot and sunny on Saturday and the kids were playing in the backyard. I overheard the following.........
J: Hey Emma do you want have tan skin like Christina?
E: Yah!
J: Good, now your skin will look dark and creamy
E: Ok
J: Hold still (She applies mud to arms and feet)
E: Oh-thanks Jewyah
J: Now you are all tan just like Miss Christina!
(Julia had previously asked our babysitter/friend Christina if she wore tights. Christina answered "No I am just tan". I think I my kids want to be tan so I will throw out tights all together, I hate tights for myself so I can't blame them!)

What a surprise.....it all is coming into place!
Today we signed a contract for a lease to own deal on our house. It is crazy, or just completely miraculous! I would say it is both. We put the house on craigslist like 2 1/2 weeks ago and it is crazy the response we have gotten! So to say the past month has been incredible is an understatement! Our month in an overview is the following; clean home and make it look like no one lives here multiple times, show house, keep kids away from house, re list the house on craigslist everyday, work, school, last minute trip to SLC, planning the biggest step of our lives, now I feel tired just thinking of it! The only thing we can say is GREAT is His faithfulness! When a stranger told me this fall that "God is going to surprise you this next year". I had really the faintest idea of what that meant.I think I am seeing the glimmers of multiple surprises =) Each step has naturally fallen and God has been holding us this whole time. The stretch of faith to do something completely out of our comfort zone has and is hard. Let's just be real! Who wouldn't be a little nervous about embarking on a huge adventure like this! I just have to walk the way I know how to it seems. Not looking to far ahead and freaking out, but taking it step by step and holding on to God the whole way! So that is the latest update. The Holm family will be moving after school is out.
And I will answer the question now, no I have not packed anything nor I am going to stress it-if there is a profession I have mastered it is a moving.
Now I am going to go move my toaster back on the counter, my hairdryer on the shelf, and put the Dora potty ring back on the toliet! FYI real people live like that-I will now be enjoying my open house everyday-welcome back to a normal home J,E,E and P!

72 hours, 4 flights and 2 babysitters later
SUNSET MOUNTAIN taken by me =)

That is how long it took and what it took to get away this weekend! It in nutshell. We decided last minute to make a trip to SLC for interviews and checking out houses, schools etc! It all came to together which in itself is no small miracle. Our kids got their favorite babysitter for a few days and we got have a a much needed scouting trip. I will admit I did shed a wee tear over my kids. I missed them allot. We did keep ourselves insanely busy though so there was not much time for reflection over the mushy stuff! So many are asking about how the trip went so I will do my best to give you the scoop on the SLC weekend!
Saturday we went house looking and did find one we loved! See pictures below-4bed 3.75 bath in a nice new neighborhood with pool and playground. Very close to a good christian school.

Then we went out with Dave and Kari for supper and ice cream! It was a nice time of getting to know each other. They are fellow Minnesotans so we got along very well. Here is a picture of them and there oldest daughter. We went over to their place on Sunday nite as well.

Here is Dave Elshaug and family-not to mention he gave us a "free" (hehe) tour of K2 the church. Such sweet people (even for a Norwegian =)!)
Here is K2 the church. www.k2thechurch.com

Us outside K2 on Sunday morning
On Sunday afternoon it was off to Park City! A big ski resort town, here we are home at "Swede Alley" If you can't see the street is named Swede Alley!!!Can it be a SIGN?????

The summary of the trip is = AWESOME! We now have "friends" in Salt Lake City! We have found a school, a house and a church we love! Now for all those details to line up! And of course we have more than one funny story from the weekend...trying to get into a wrong house, leaving a message on a realtors cell phone without knowing it was recording...sorry man, and here is the funniest story........
As we sit and wait to push off the gate in Denver the stewardess calls a name Jim Naseum. No one reacted till a few minutes later She says " We are waiting for a "Jim Nasium" please press your call button if you are here." Then giggles go thru the cabin...what did she say...indeed "gymnasium" was who we waited for! Then strangley enough they called for a " Mrs. Hazel Nut please ring your call button if you are on board!" I love a good joke and burst out. Most passengers didnt know what to make of it....and last but not least we waited for "Mrs. Ginger Ale " . Now the plane burst out and knew that they were kidding. A poor young guy got on the plane and they said "Yes, now "Jim Nasium has arrived and we can push off" He didn't flinch I guess that was not HIS name! He got a round of applause at least! The stewardess's had a goog sense of humor and give me a good story. The trip that started with watching The Office reruns and me laughing way to loud on a plane, ended with me laughing again way to loud on a plane. At least I didnt snort-which has been known to happen from time to time with a good hearty laugh!
Hope you enjoyed the recap!

Open house..not so open
Why is an open house feeling more like a closed house? Everything is put away the kids are allowed to sit or stand, nothing else. I spend hours on end anywhere with a play area just so my children can move with out fear of time out just for touching something. I think they view an "open house" as a closed house. Why do we put everything in drawers, hide it in a closet, doesn't make much sense to a child that you WANT to make it look like no ones lives here??? That my friends isn't much fun! But it is fun that we are having them often, I have to admit I would love to get a "done deal" and move my toaster back on the counter top again.
Fun story of the day-in mom's style it involves poop.
Erik tries to steal Emma's candy. Emma is not happy, Erik starts a tantrum, I panic and say "Just give him some candy so he will be happy"!! Emma pauses then shouts " I HAVE DIARRHEA!!!!" then whispers in a hush to Erik "so that is why you can't have my candy". Needless to say the heads turned and my face was red. No one heard anything but the diarrhea part! Oh well, another day in the life.
